Short answer
Aligners are almost invisible and come out for eating, but they depend on consistent wear and are a better fit for mild corrections. Braces stay fixed in place, don’t depend on your discipline and work for a wider range of cases. The final choice depends on your bite.
Questions to ask yourself
- Will I be able to wear them almost all day?
- Is this a small correction, or do my teeth need to move a lot?
- Have I already had orthodontics, and did my teeth shift?
- What matters more to me: looks or the convenience of not thinking about it?
Aligners are a common option for patients who have already had orthodontics and experienced small shifts. Whichever system you choose, the retainer is what keeps the result.
